Embrace and rebuild but wash the blood off my hands. I don't want to be a part of my fellow man because we're all so petty with how we behave. I'm just trying to live here and feel free for a day. There's blood in the carpet - I know the stain barely shows. If this is addiction, then I don't want to know the way the silence screams your name when you're walking home alone. If this is desperation, then desperation is my home. Pour the salt into my wounds. How nice it feels to feel anything at all. You brought the pain back far too soon. I'll be a martyr if I have to. Love's all about settling and deep-seeded resentment. It never meant that much to me. Anger shares it's bed with loneliness, so let me sleep with them. This empty breath just means that I'm still breathing. This heart attack means I'm not doing well. I never swore that I'd protect you, but if I have to I will.
